Information about the MinistryRecently, we have begun conversations with three additional United Methodist Churches about the opportunity to offer an American Sign Language interpreter to deaf persons in their churches. Our ministry wants to be able to help support these churches' efforts to reach out and we need you! Here are several ways you can help: 1. Order HolyBears, deaf related videos or find out more about the ministry. The HolyBears make great gifts for birthdays, anniversaries, baptisms, confirmation, ordination or commissioning, Christmas, Easter, graduations, etc. There is a bear for almost every occasion. There are state bears, international bears, community bears, patriotic bears, wedding bears, prayer bears, sports bears, and pet bears. There is even a PigAngel named Penny. Now, remember saying you would do this or that, “when pigs fly?” Well, we have those flying pigs right here! 2. Make
a donation or take a special offering in your class or church.
The ministry is a recognized recipient of the Central Texas Conference Advance
Special Offering, Number 825. This
is a fund that allows your church to receive credit for mission support and
allows us to have funding. For
more information about Advance Special Offering Procedures please contact
Central Texas
Conference Office for more information - 817-877-5222. 3. You can also make donations directly to the ministry by sending a check to: UMC Deaf
Ministry Your gifts will make it possible for deaf persons to attend worship, understand the pastor and the music, and participate fully in the life of their church. Won’t you help? Currently, interpreters are provided for worship at these sites every Sunday.
